And I am just slightly overwhelmed!! New school, new procedures. No clerical help during work days so all that labeling, putting up posters, etc, that I am so use to having Sarah help me with, nada...nothing...nil. On first impression, even though I have a very large class, they seem pretty good. I do have one who told me that he was off his ADD meds....and it shows...may need to call mom on that one. And have another who probably needs meds...but if that is all I have to deal with, Praise God.
Dave and I celebrated our 25th anniversary by laying around, watching tv...and eating all day. Like I need that. I was nice to have him back after his trip to PA for his sister's funeral.
Well, its Sunday afternoon and I still have plans to write. Chris...I thought you were suppose to do that for me?? or at least find me a cushy job like yours.

He keeps on growing

Brad just keeps on getting bigger and bigger. Funny how babies just seem to do that. He's at the age now where he stays awake so much during the day, but he is hard to entertain. Not quite old enough to entertain himself. But I loved putting him in the bouncy seat and telling him stories. He loves how a cow says MOOOO
I get to babysit Saturday while Chad and Sarah go to Busch Gardens. I'm really looking forward to it. Some Brad and Nanny time.
Back to school tomorrow. Of course I am in a workshop most of the day...but then we are off to preparing the rooms for the bright and eager students coming in on Aug. 25. I just want a part of their energy. I spent too much time working this summer...going to stay home do nothing next summer.

White Water Rafting

I couldn't believe that I went white water rafting. What a trip! When I signed up for the multimedia workshop at NCCAT who would have thought I would spend a day on Nantahala River with the other seminar participants. I was scared to death that morning, but once we got on the river, it was awesome.
Our guide, Crystal, was fantastic. She loved hitting things like rocks, bridges, etc. which added excitement to our trip. When you hit a rock you spin around which makes the trip a little more exciting.
The river way all class 1 to class 3 rapids. The class 3 was the ride over the falls at the end of the trip. Considering we all stayed in the raft, what an accomplishment.
The rest of the NCCAT seminar was just as good. We learned a lot about using multimedia in the class. I'm anxious to put what I learned into use in the classroom. Since teachers go back to school this week, I guess I'll be able to use it sooner, than later.
